The Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation is one of those foundations that always turns up on lists for the best foundation for pale skin! It has always been a foundation which I have had my eye on, but never brought! But I am happy to report, I brought it a few months ago for my summer ball & at first, I loved it. But as the summer went, I started to really dislike it.
And this is why Double Wear is a high coverage foundation meaning you have to be careful when applying. And after a month of playing around with it & seeing how it looked using different techniques. I decided that this high coverage foundation was not for me. Which is disappointing as I use MAC’s Studio Sculpt foundation & I have never found a problem with it doing this. And it’s a high coverage foundation too! I was also disappointed as unlike the Studio Sculpt, the shade 1N1 was the perfect foundation shade for me!
But seeing as I spent £31 on this foundation, I wasn’t going to give up on it just yet! And I went out & bought the L’Oreal Paris Lumi Magique Primer & started to mix it in with the Double Wear foundation. And in doing this, it has stopped the foundation looking as cakey around my nose & the primer gave my skin a lovely glow!
Overall, I would recommend this foundation for anyone which have normal, combination or oily skin. But I wouldn’t recommend for anyone who has dry skin like me. The colours within this foundation range are excellent & I understand why everyone raves about it. I personally will not be repurchasing this foundation, but I will be going back to the Estee Lauder counter again to look for a different foundation!
*I bought this product myself from Estee Lauder at House of Fraser. And all views are my own.
