When I originally started this blog, it was going to be my creative outlet about all things beauty. But as I have started writing & promoting my blog, I have realised that I have a few unique things about me that I should share with the world. And hopefully, help other carers remember that there are many different people out there that are just like you.
A young carer is someone that is aged 18 or under who helps look after a relative who has a condition such as a disability, illness, mental health condition or drug or alcohol problem. And it is estimated that there are 70,000 young carers in the UK, 68% of which are bullied at some point at school. It is also believed that only half of carers have a particular person in school who recognises that they are a carer & helps them.
I want to be that person that people can talk to about it all, as I was that girl at an all-girls school who felt alone.
So please, tweet or email me if you need someone to talk to who has gone through it all!
I was a lucky one, & have fantastic parents! Ones who pushed me & made me get a job, apply for university & travel. But I know that there aren’t people who are so lucky, so I want to be that person that you can talk to.
Keep an eye out for more posts on this, as I aim to give more awareness of this very important subject!
Just remember, it’s never too late to be whoever you want to be. You can have a life that you want, you just may need a little push in the right direction
