“Your custom shade is just a Pro Foundation Mixer away! Our new shade mixers are designed to adjust the tone, shade and finish of any liquid foundation, resulting in a truly perfect match.”
Now I know soon as you read the above statement, you automatically thought okay what is this girl going on about!? I can categorically tell you that it takes a lot for me to love a product but soon as I started using this, I knew it was the one!
The funny thing is, I never actually went out looking for a white mixer. I went into Boots looking for a brand to review regarding how they cater for pale skin. And I noticed that my local large store had an NYX counter. Well, you could imagine my excitement, as I have always wanted to try it. So when I was swatching the foundations I noticed the NYX Foundation Mixer in White & I just knew I had to purchase it and review!
So, if any of you are new to my blog, I do posts regarding finding the right products for pale skin. And when I saw this product, I knew I had to try it. And soon as I got home I got out my MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation which is too dark but looks great on my skin & got out my foundation mixer palette & mixed the two together. By just mixing small amounts of both products, I automatically knew I was onto a winner!
This mixer doesn’t change the texture or longevity of the foundation but simply makes it lighter. It also doesn’t make the foundation look grey like The Body Shop Shade Adjusting Drops in Lightening does. But it seems to make the foundations look brighter & only a small drop can make all the difference.
I have also tried this mixer with other foundations & found exactly the same results as what I found with my MAC studio Sculpt.
Overall, I think its product does exactly what it says it does. It makes foundations which are too dark on you, lighter. And is a great product to have if you have trouble in finding the right shade for you in ranges that don’t go as pale as you are. I will be repurchasing this product & probably will buy a back up in case they discontinue it!
